In the early 2000s, personal blogging platforms like Blogger, LiveJournal, and WordPress gave people a place to express themselves, share their stories, and connect with like-minded individuals. However, the rise of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter caused personal blogging to lose its appeal. But in recent years, personal blogging has made a comeback. Personal blogs offer something that social media platforms do not – complete control over content, longer-form content, and significant benefits for businesses.
In this blog post, I argue that personal blogging is better than closed-wall social media. Personal blogs offer freedom of expression, are less algorithmic, and more authentic than social media. Social media platforms have become a breeding ground for fake accounts and paid promotions, while personal blogs provide a space for genuine expression and real connections. Whether you’re blogging for personal expression or business benefits, there’s no denying the unique advantages that personal blogging offers.
